Prehistoric Dog

James Millican's first Berserker pedal, the Prehistoric Dog is a full-throated clone of the Sunn Beta Lead and Beta Bass preamp. A five-unit minimum order sold out in a day and accidentally launched the company.

An internal high-voltage charge pump runs the circuit at proper rail voltage, matching the headroom and punch of the original amp's preamp section. The weirdly powerful EQ voicing of the Beta series is intact, giving this box the snarl and authority that made YOB and Red Fang fans salivate. Tight lows, cutting mids, fizzy grind on top.

Works as a distortion box into a dirty amp or a legitimate preamp into a clean amp, power amp, or recording interface. Handles guitar, bass, and baritone equally well.
