Black Betty
Higher-gain version of the Betty White overdrive with more saturation on tap.
Big Ear Pedals was started by Grant Wilson, formerly of Brooklyn indie band The Click Clack Boom, and his partner Karen Schierhorn. Based in NYC, they design pedals with gnarly vintage character, minimalist graphics, and straightforward controls.
The Black Betty takes the transparent overdrive character of the Betty White and adds more gain on tap. For players who loved the Betty Whites touch-sensitivity but needed more saturation, this darker sibling delivers.
The circuit maintains the same responsive, dynamic character while pushing further into driven territory. It still cleans up well with guitar volume, making it versatile for players who work their instruments controls.
From edge-of-breakup through medium gain crunch, the Black Betty covers more ground while keeping Big Ears signature clarity.
