Big Ear Pedals was started by Grant Wilson, formerly of Brooklyn indie band The Click Clack Boom, and his partner Karen Schierhorn. Based in NYC, they design pedals with gnarly vintage character, minimalist graphics, and straightforward controls. The Elle is Big Ears optical tremolo, delivering smooth amplitude modulation with the warm character of classic photocell-based designs. Optical tremolo has a distinctive softness compared to bias or harmonic tremolo—less choppy, more flowing. Rate and depth controls provide everything from subtle motion to dramatic throb.
