CH-1 Super Chorus
Crystalline stereo chorus with shimmering highs - brighter and more present than the CE-2.
The CH-1 Super Chorus has been in continuous production since 1989, making it Boss's longest-running chorus pedal. It uses a digital delay line for clean, bright chorus with stereo output, positioned as the step up from the CE-5 in clarity.
The CH-1 produces a distinctively clear, sparkly chorus. Where the CE-2 was warm and the CE-5 is neutral, the CH-1 leans bright and shimmery. A dedicated E.Level control sets the wet/dry mix independently from the effect depth, giving more precise control over how much chorus sits in the signal.
Rate, Depth, E.Level, and Tone controls. Stereo outputs for spatial width. At 15mA it's very power-efficient. The Tone knob adjusts the treble content of the chorus effect without affecting the dry signal.
Over 35 years of production says something about the CH-1's utility. It's not the most characterful chorus Boss makes, but it's the most controllable. Players who want chorus they can precisely dial in, rather than chorus with personality, tend to prefer the CH-1.
