The DM-2W brings back the warm analog delay character of the 1981 DM-2, one of the most sought-after Boss pedals on the vintage market. Standard mode recreates the original's 20-300ms BBD delay range. Custom mode extends the delay time to 800ms while maintaining the analog character.

Bucket-brigade chips provide the delay line, giving repeats that degrade naturally: each repetition loses a little high end and gains a little warmth. The Custom mode's extended delay time is the key upgrade, since the original DM-2 topped out at 300ms, which many players found limiting.

Repeat Rate, Echo, and Intensity controls mirror the original layout. The tone darkens as feedback builds, creating that classic 'repeats disappearing into fog' character that digital delays struggle to replicate.
