DN-2 Dyna Drive
Touch-sensitive overdrive with exceptional pick dynamics and amp-like feel.
The DN-2 Dyna Drive is a touch-sensitive overdrive designed to track your playing dynamics with exceptional accuracy. Released in 2008, it uses analog circuitry optimized for the most natural possible response to pick attack and volume changes.
The circuit is designed so that the transition from clean to overdriven is as smooth and gradual as a tube amp. Light picking stays clean; moderate attack produces light crunch; aggressive picking drives into full saturation. The dynamic range is wider than most overdrives, making it respond more like an amp channel than a pedal.
Level, Tone, and Drive controls. At 36mA, it's in the analog processing range. The Drive knob sets the ceiling for how much gain is available, and your picking dynamics determine where in that range you operate at any moment.
Boss built the DN-2 for the same players who seek amp-like overdrive response. It's less about the tone color and more about the feel: how naturally the pedal follows your playing.
