DS-1w Distortion

The DS-1W rebuilds the legendary DS-1 circuit with an all-discrete analog signal path and premium components. Standard mode captures the original's hard-clipping character. Custom mode reshapes the gain structure for a more dynamic, touch-sensitive response.

In Standard mode, the familiar DS-1 voice is all there: the tight low end, smooth sustain, and balanced midrange that made the original a classic. Custom mode loosens the response, allowing more pick dynamics to come through and adding harmonic overtones that the original's op-amp circuit didn't produce.

Tone, Level, and Distortion controls, plus a Standard/Custom toggle. The all-discrete signal path means no op-amp in the audio circuit, which changes the clipping character in ways that are audible side-by-side with the original. At 15mA, it's still extremely power-efficient.

Made in Japan under the Waza Craft banner. For players who love the DS-1's voice but want a more nuanced version, this is the upgrade path Boss intended.
