FT-2 Dynamic Filter
Envelope filter with sensitivity and cutoff controls. Touch-controlled wah sweep following your pick.
The FT-2 Dynamic Filter is an envelope-following bandpass filter, similar in concept to the TW-1 but with a wider frequency range and more aggressive filter character. Released in 1986, it produces funky, quacking filter sweeps driven by pick dynamics.
The filter tracks picking intensity and sweeps across a broader frequency range than the TW-1. Higher sensitivity settings make the filter respond to lighter touches; lower settings require harder picking to open the filter. The resonance (Q) of the filter determines how sharp and vocal the sweep sounds.
Sens, Cutoff, Q, and Mode controls. At 16mA it's power-efficient. The Cutoff control sets the starting frequency of the filter sweep, while Q controls the resonance peak intensity. Higher Q settings produce more pronounced, vocal-sounding sweeps.
Produced from 1986 to 1989. The FT-2 is a more aggressive, more flexible envelope filter than the TW-1. Players looking for funky auto-wah effects with more control over the filter character.
