The NS-1X Noise Suppressor applies MDP (Multi-Dimensional Processing) technology to noise reduction, analyzing the signal in real time to distinguish between musical content and noise more accurately than traditional gates.
MDP processing continuously adapts the noise suppression threshold based on the signal characteristics. Unlike fixed-threshold gates that can chop note tails, the NS-1X tracks the musical envelope and applies noise reduction intelligently. This means it can suppress noise between notes without audibly cutting sustain.
Threshold, Decay, and additional controls. At higher current draw than the analog NS-2 due to digital processing. Send/return loop for targeting specific noisy pedals, same concept as the NS-2's X-pattern detection.
The NS-1X is the modern evolution of the NS-2 concept. MDP processing provides more transparent noise suppression with less impact on sustain and dynamics. For players who found the NS-2's gating too aggressive or its threshold too difficult to dial in perfectly.
