Hawaiian Pizza
Dual-transistor silicon fuzz with Pig, Pineapple, and Pizza controls for versatile gain textures.
The Caroline Guitar Company Hawaiian Pizza is a silicon fuzz descended from classic 60s dual-transistor designs like the Fuzz Face and Fuzzrite. Using high-gain 2N5088 transistors without op amps or clipping diodes, it delivers organic fuzz tones.
Three controls with playful names shape the sound: Pig (input gain), Pineapple (voltage/compression), and Pizza (output). The Pineapple control affects the power supply voltage, yielding everything from maximum headroom to squishy, gated, octave-y sounds when starved.
An internal pickup simulator ensures consistent sound regardless of pedal chain position. The Hawaiian Pizza covers overdriven amp tones, thick Muff-style fuzz, and grungy gated textures. It earned a Premier Guitar Premier Gear Award for its surprising range.
