The Destruction Drive was developed to be an intense and heavy distortion effect with a 3-band active EQ for meticulous tonal adjustment. The EQ consists of a Frequency Selection Network that shapes the signal for heavy music, followed by the active EQ and a Frequency-Gain Boost circuit for additional sculpting.

The 2022 version features a more transparent tone with less compression and more natural response to guitar volume adjustments. Attack has been significantly improved with faster picking response, while the mid frequency is fuller for enhanced three-dimensional lead tones and clearer high-frequency response.
