Collaboration Devices brings together four entities: founder Patrick Chen, circuit designer Peter Bregman (Chase Bliss Brothers designer), visual designer Jake Swogger, and manufacturer Cusack Engineering. This collaborative approach combines diverse expertise into unique products.
The Compressor is Patrick Chen's take on a VCA buss compressor, with circuitry designed by Peter Bregman based on the 'auto' release setting of the SSL Buss compressor. Attack/release times are dynamically dependent on transients detected by the RMS detector.
The Comp Level dial simultaneously adjusts threshold and ratio for intuitive operation, while Comp Blend mixes dry signal to retain low end. A parallel gain stage activated by footswitch adds unique saturation, described as 'having a top-boost AC30 in parallel with your compressed signal.' Internal trimpots adjust makeup gain and harmonic trim.
The pedal never enters limiter territory, working equally well on bass and guitar. Dimensions: 4.75" x 3.75" x 2.5". Power: 9V only, 40mA draw.
