Singularity
One-knob JFET/silicon fuzz with 3-way low-pass filter switch and 25mA draw.
Collision Devices is a French pedal builder creating ambient and experimental effects, with all products designed, assembled, and tested by hand in their workshop. Their designs are renowned in shoegaze and ambient music communities.
The Singularity is the fuzz section from the Black Hole Symmetry extracted into a standalone pedal. The signal passes through a JFET transistor followed by 3 silicon transistors for destructive, aggressive fuzz. Despite being called 'one-knob,' it includes a 3-way toggle switch.
The single knob controls output volume with plenty on tap. The 3-way switch selects between three low-pass filter frequencies: 720Hz, 2.3kHz, and 16kHz, dramatically changing the fuzz character from thick and woolly to bright and cutting.
Specs: 9V DC negative center, 25mA max current, 1 MOhm input/100 KOhm output impedance, 118 x 118mm, 150g. Available in Black and White editions. Lifetime warranty. Priced at 129 EUR. Completely built in France.
