DO1 Daddy-O Overdrive
Marshall Guv'nor clone with 3-band EQ delivering JCM800-style overdrive.
Danelectro has been making affordable, quirky gear since 1947, known for their vintage-inspired designs and accessible pricing. The Daddy-O was one of their most acclaimed overdrive pedals.
The DO-1 Daddy-O is essentially a 1-to-1 clone of the black-box Marshall Guv'nor pedal from the 80s, which was marketed as a 'JCM800 in a box.' The circuit features an input buffer, variable gain stage, second gain stage, LED hard clipping, 3-band tone control, volume control, and output buffer.
Controls include Volume, O Drive, and individual Bass, Middle, and Treble attenuation. The hollow midrange and stack-in-a-box character made it popular for rock and classic metal tones. Housed in heavy-duty die-cast steel - you could drive a car over it. Features FET switching and runs on 9V power.
