Darkglass Electronics, founded in Finland in 2009, has become the premier name in modern bass distortion and preamps. The Hyper Luminal represents their first venture into compression.

The Hyper Luminal features the first hybrid design in a compressor pedal: an analog VCA controlled by a digital sidechain. This allowed Darkglass to capture legendary compressor characters while keeping the signal path completely analog.

Three modes: BUS (modeled after SSL Bus Compressor), FET (inspired by UA 1176), and SYM (based on Darkglass's discontinued Super Symmetry). Controls include Blend, Time, Output, Compression, plus Ratio and Mode via through-metal touch sensors. Features 10-segment gain reduction meter and USB interface for Darkglass Suite tweaking. Dimensions: 75x111x43mm. Current draw: 250mA, 9V DC only.
