Diamond Pedals, founded in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 2003, became legendary for their Compressor and Memory Lane delay. The brand was reborn under SolidGoldFX in 2023 and is now built in Montreal.
The Bass Comp adapts Diamond's acclaimed opto-compressor circuit for bass guitar, featuring enhanced low-frequency response while maintaining the smooth, studio-quality compression characteristics. Like its guitar sibling, it uses a Vactrol opto-isolator for natural attack and decay that preserves transients.
The post-compressor tilt EQ provides musical frequency shaping from darker to brighter voicings. Double filtering in the side chain eliminates low-frequency modulation artifacts common with bass signals. True bypass, runs on 9-24V DC.
