Darkness

Dreadbox is a Greek synthesizer manufacturer that expanded into effects pedals, bringing their analog expertise and Eurorack sensibility to the guitar world. The Darkness, created in collaboration with Sinevibes, is a digital reverb that ventures into experimental territory.

The granular pitch shifter is tunable across two octaves, from enriching depth to aggressive pads. A 150ms sampler integrates with gate and LFO for gated sample-and-hold effects, while the dedicated Hold button freezes the last 150ms as a loop. Modes include shimmer, modulated, and granular reverbs.

Stereo I/O makes it ideal for synths and studio use. Controls include Spread, Mix, Decay, and a mode-dependent Control knob. Unlike other Dreadbox pedals, the Darkness lacks CV connectivity but delivers vast, shimmering soundscapes.
