Brute Drive
Creamy distortion that impressed Eric Gales enough to earn a signature version.
E.W.S. (Engineering Work Store) launched in 2006 as a Tokyo repair shop famous for Arion Chorus mods before releasing original pedals in 2009. The Brute Drive was among their first.
Designed for smooth, classic distortion rather than metal, the Brute Drive excels from softest blues to blistering hard rock. Back off the gain for natural overdrive; crank it for singing sustain. The 10dB boost switch kicks the low-mids and gain for solos. Blues legend Eric Gales loved it so much he now has his own signature version.
Three intuitive controls: Volume, Gain, and Tone. The Tone knob elevates high-mids for bite or rolls off completely for ultra-dark sounds. Housed in bulletproof aluminum with true bypass.
Unexpectedly versatile. The 'brute' aggression hides beautifully expressive bluesy tones underneath.
