Acapulco Gold

EarthQuaker Devices built the Acapulco Gold around the power section of a dimed Sunn Model T amplifier. The Model T defined stoner rock, doom metal, and heavyweight alternative throughout the '70s and beyond. This pedal has exactly one control: output volume. The gain circuit runs wide open at all times, delivering the massive low end and crushing power amp distortion that made the Model T legendary. Your guitar's volume knob becomes your gain control. Roll back for gritty overdrive, dime it for face-melting saturation. V2 added silent relay switching for click-free operation. The circuit still uses 18mA, runs on standard 9V power, and sits in a compact enclosure.
