Bit Commander
Monophonic analog guitar synth generating four octaves of square wave. Glitchy tracking is part of the charm.
EarthQuaker Devices created the Bit Commander as an analog guitar synthesizer. Four octaves of square wave tones combine to create vintage synth textures without MIDI or tracking latency. Four voice controls: Sub (two octaves down), Octave Down, Guitar (fundamental with light squaring), and Octave Up (transformer-based). Mix them to taste. The analog circuit responds instantly without the glitchy tracking of digital synth pedals. Best results come from neck pickup, single notes, 7th fret and above. Lower notes will track but with occasional glitches that some players embrace as character.
