Hummingbird
Repeat percussion tremolo. Choppy, stutter-style modulation from the 1960s.
EarthQuaker Devices recreated the repeat percussion tremolo effect found in 1960s Vox and Fender amps. This isn't smooth tube tremolo. It's choppy, rhythmic stuttering.
The effect rapidly gates your signal on and off rather than smoothly modulating volume. Rate controls speed from slow pulse to hummingbird-wing flutter. Depth adjusts how completely the signal cuts.
Mode toggle selects between different stutter patterns. The hard-chopping character works for surf, psychedelic, and any style that wants rhythmic disruption.
Based on circuits from the Vox Repeat Percussion and similar vintage amps.
