EarthQuaker Devices built the Rainbow Machine around intentionally imperfect DSP pitch-shifting. Digital artifacts become part of the sound.

Pitch control ranges from a fourth below to a third above your input. Magic mode feeds signals back on themselves for regeneration, self-oscillation, and chaos. Tracking control adjusts how the pitch engine responds to dynamics.

V2 reduced noise, increased output, and recalibrated the Magic control for wider range. FlexiSwitch on both footswitches. Not a subtle pedal.
