Blackbird

Effectrode builds pedals with real vacuum tubes operating at amplifier plate voltages, not starved designs. The Blackbird is their flagship preamp.

Two independent channels deliver a pristine Blackface-style clean and a hot-rodded Dumble/Soldano-inspired overdrive, each with full EQ. Three 12AX7 tubes provide up to four cascaded gain stages with DC-heated filaments for silent operation.

The Blackbird includes transformer-balanced output for professional recording. Tube rolling the first stage changes response characteristics, from compressed 12AX7 to open 12AY7 tones.
