Windmiller Preamp
Grampian 636 preamp recreation capturing Pete Townshend's 1966-67 saturation tone.
Aclam is a Spanish boutique born in Barcelona in 2010. The Windmiller recreates the built-in preamp from the Grampian Reverberation Type Unit 636 that Pete Townshend used between 1966-67.
Townshend used the Grampian 636 not for its reverb but to saturate his Marshall amps. Aclam matched the critical low input impedance and reproduced the topology, while adding flexible EQ controls and eliminating the original's hiss.
Premier Guitar called it superior to other boosts, preamps, and amp-in-a-box pedals in their collection. Includes an overload indicator lamp like the original. Barcelona-designed tribute to The Who's groundbreaking tone.
