Limelight
Blues Breaker-inspired dual overdrive. Collaboration with Touché Amoré's Clayton Stevens.
Electronic Audio Experiments developed the Limelight with Clayton Stevens of Touché Amoré and Hesitation Wounds. The goal was a Blues Breaker-style overdrive that could handle heavier music without losing touch sensitivity.
Two independent overdrive circuits share the same voicing but can be set at different gain levels. Stack them for massive saturation, run one clean for boost, or use them for verse/chorus switching. The EQ is voiced for modern post-hardcore rather than vintage blues.
Both channels respond to pick dynamics and guitar volume. The circuit compresses naturally at higher gain settings without getting muddy. Built to cut through dense mixes where clarity matters.
The Limelight works as well for ambient swells as it does for aggressive riffing. Clayton's fingerprints are all over the voicing.
