Surveyor
Ampeg SVT/IVP bass preamp in a pedal. Captures the Ampeg bass amp voice without the 85-pound head.
Electronic Audio Experiments designed the Surveyor to capture the Ampeg IVP preamp section. The IVP was a rack preamp that became a secret weapon for heavy bands needing crushing bass tones. The circuit emphasizes the IVP's characteristically aggressive midrange and tight low end. Three-band EQ matches the original's voicing. The Gain control goes from warm and full to grinding distortion while keeping the bottom end focused. Works equally well for bass or guitar. Bass players get the IVP sound without hunting down vintage rack gear. Guitarists get a thick, bass-forward preamp that sits differently in a mix than typical guitar-voiced pedals. Built
