The AX8 was Fractal's first all-in-one floor modeler, putting Axe-Fx II-quality amp modeling under your feet. Eight assignable footswitches with LED rings, eight front-panel knobs (Drive, Bass, Mid, Treble, Presence, Depth, Master, Level), and a 160x80 monochrome LCD. Powered by two dual-core 450 MHz ADSP-21469 processors with a dedicated cab convolution accelerator.

222 amp models and 130+ factory cab IRs. 512 presets, mono instrument input, XLR balanced main outs with Humbuster technology, balanced effects loop, S/PDIF output, and four expression pedal/switch inputs. Sub-2ms latency regardless of CPU load.

Introduced in 2015 and discontinued April 2019, the AX8 proved that a floor modeler could match rack-unit quality. It was succeeded by the FM3 and FM9, which brought the newer Axe-Fx III algorithms to floor format.
