Red Jasper RJ-2V
Vintage tube-amp overdrive with passive hi-cut tone circuit and four-position low-end voicing
Overdrive voiced to replicate the response of vintage tube amplifiers—smooth highs, punchy mids, full but tight lows, and the natural compression feel of a cranked amp. The RJ-2V is the second generation of Free The Tone's Red Jasper circuit.
Uses a passive hi-cut tone circuit designed to minimize phase error in the guitar signal path, keeping the guitar's original timbre intact even with the effect engaged. The HTS (Holistic Tonal Solution) buffer handles impedance conversion at input and output. A four-position internal mode switch adjusts low-frequency response from full bass (setting A) to progressively tighter low end (setting D), letting you dial out mud for different pickups and amp combinations.
Three external knobs—LEVEL, HI-CUT, DRIVE—keep the interface simple. Runs on 9V battery or adapter at just 11mA.
