Spleen Germanium Fuzz
Germanium transistor fuzz with temperature-sensitive, vintage-voiced character and soft response.
FTelettronica is an Italian one-man shop in Isola del Liri, founded in 2008. They build faithful clones of rare and discontinued effects, using Alpha pots, Neutrik/Lumberg jacks, and a 2-year warranty.
The Spleen Germanium Fuzz uses germanium transistors, which respond to temperature changes and produce a softer, more compressed fuzz tone than silicon. 117x71mm, adhesive-on-aluminum. True bypass, 9V center-negative. Currently out of stock.
Germanium transistors are what made vintage Fuzz Faces sound the way they do. Temperature sensitivity means the tone shifts as the pedal warms up. Some players consider this a feature, not a bug. Control details and current draw aren't published.
