Tone Smuggler

The Tone Smuggler uses two stages of Class A JFET gain to produce beautiful texture, overdrive, and distortion. This gain-laden overdrive easily straddles the line from overdrive to distortion and even fuzz, sounding like an extension of your guitar and amp.

Gain control takes you from clean to screaming distortion, almost fuzz-like. Tone sweeps from dark and slightly muffled (smooth and buttery) to brighter than normal amp settings. Volume allows a huge amount of boost.

Sensitive to pick attack and volume control settings. Clean amps make it sound cleaner; easily overdriven amps make it more gnarly. Used on tour by Peter Stroud, Jay Gonzalez (Drive-By Truckers), and Alex Weeden (Miranda Lambert).
