AD-9 Analog Delay
1982-84 analog delay with warm, degrading repeats. MN3205 BBD chip, 10-300ms delay time. The TS9 of delays.
Ibanez is a Japanese guitar and accessory manufacturer owned by Hoshino Gakki. Their vintage effects from the late 70s and early 80s are highly sought after by collectors and tone purists.
The AD-9 replaced the AD-80 in 1982 and is considered the delay equivalent of the TS-9. MN3205 bucket-brigade chip provides 10-300ms of warm analog delay. Repeats naturally degrade in a musical way as they recycle.
Delay Time, Feedback, and Delay Level controls shape the sound. Standard 9V center-negative power replaced the AD-80's unusual 18V requirement. Reissued by both Maxon (2003) and Ibanez (2005). Vintage units command $200+ prices.
