X-Drive

IK Multimedia brought their acclaimed AmpliTube plugin algorithms to hardware with the X-GEAR series. X-Drive packs 16 overdrive and distortion effects developed using their latest DSP technology.

The algorithms range from transparent boost to high-gain distortion, each meticulously modeled with 192kHz internal processing and 4x oversampling for studio-quality clarity on stage. The eight rotary encoders let you tweak every parameter, and 300 preset slots store your sounds.

True stereo or mono operation, selectable true/soft bypass, and full MIDI implementation make it integrate anywhere. The USB port handles preset management via the Librarian app and doubles as a 24-bit recording interface. An expression input adds real-time control.

Built in Italy with an anodized aluminum chassis, X-Drive weighs 906g and runs on standard 9V DC. 50 factory presets get you started, with virtual X-GEAR versions included in AmpliTube 5.
