Nimbus
Bass reverb with highpass filter to keep low end tight. Room size from small to near-infinite decay.
Iron Ether makes unique effects and synth modules in Portland, Oregon. The Nimbus is a high-quality reverb designed specifically for bass and baritone instruments.
Most reverbs turn muddy on bass. The Nimbus uses a built-in highpass filter on the reverb signal to keep the instrument low end intact while the highs shimmer. A lowpass filter creates darker timbres when desired.
Room Size sweeps from small practice rooms to massive concert halls with decay times up to several minutes, approaching infinite for ambient drones. Clean and Reverb volumes are independent, with the clean path staying fully analog.
Taylor at Iron Ether designed and implemented his own algorithm rather than using off-the-shelf DSP. Relay-based true bypass, 85mA at 9V. Hand-painted with unique machine-engraved graphics.
