Amp Mode
MOSFET boost extracted from the Prism. Amp-like clipping with silent knob rotation. 9-18V operation.
Jackson Audio builds premium effects in Fort Worth, Texas, combining analog circuits with digital control features like MIDI and presets. Their collaboration-driven approach has produced signature pedals with Joey Landreth, Cory Wong, and Mateus Asato.
The Amp Mode is the standalone version of the popular MOSFET boost circuit from the Prism preamp. The MOSFET transistor delivers amp-like clipping characteristics that respond naturally to playing dynamics.
A single Boost knob controls output level. Fully counterclockwise, it acts as a unity-gain buffer. Runs on 9-18V for increased headroom. Use it as a preamp, to push an overdrive harder, or as a post-drive boost. Jackson fixed the crackle issue found in similar MOSFET boosts.
