Rattler mk1
RAT-style distortion with LM308 op-amp. Asymmetrical clipping for amp-like dynamics and creamy saturation.
JAM Pedals has been hand-building effects in Athens, Greece since 2005. Founded by Jannis Anastasakis, they use through-hole components, point-to-point wiring, and hand-painted enclosures. Artists like John Scofield, Bill Frisell, and Nels Cline play JAM pedals.
The Rattler is JAM's take on the ProCo RAT, improving on the 1980s classic with better response to picking dynamics. The asymmetrical clipping circuit and carbon comp resistors deliver that open, tube-amp feel with vintage warmth.
Level, Tone, and Gain controls cover everything from edge-of-breakup crunch to thick saturation. True bypass, 10mA draw. Hand-painted enclosure.
