Jam Pedals voiced the Tube Dreamer around the JRC4558D op-amp chip, the same IC found in coveted original TS808 units. The circuit is carefully tuned to deliver that characteristic midrange push that's defined countless recordings.
Like all Tube Screamer variants, the Tube Dreamer excels at pushing an already-cooking amp into singing sustain. The mid-hump cuts through band mixes while rolling off harsh high end and tightening bass response.
Level controls output volume, Drive sets the gain, Tone shapes the high end. This legacy model has been superseded by updated versions, but the core voice remains consistent with Jam's take on the TS808 formula.
