3 Series Delay
Dual-voice delay switching between pristine digital and warm analog. 80ms to 800ms range.
JHS built the 3 Series Delay around a toggle that switches personalities. Digital mode delivers clean, precise repeats that sit behind your playing without coloring your tone. Analog mode adds warmth and degrades the repeats as they decay, mimicking the classic bucket-brigade delays from the early 80s.
Time runs from 80ms slapback to 800ms ambient wash. Repeats control handles feedback from single echo to runaway oscillation. Level balances wet and dry. The circuit stays stable even when you push the Repeats knob into self-oscillation territory, a trick that separates quality delays from noisy ones.
At 71mA draw, it's efficient for a digital delay. Three knobs, one toggle, and enough range to cover most delay needs without the menu diving that complicated modern delays.
