JHS designed the 3 Series Distortion for maximum versatility within the simplified control layout. The circuit spans medium-gain crunch through heavy distortion into fuzzy saturation, covering more ground than most single-channel dirt pedals.

Volume, Filter, and Distort knobs handle the basics. The Filter control shapes frequency response to match your amp's voice and cut through dense band mixes. The gain toggle switches personalities—up gives you compressed, saturated modern distortion, down opens up the dynamics for crunchy classic rock tones.

At 9mA draw, it barely registers on most power supplies. Built in Kansas City with the same hardware JHS uses across their range. The 3 Series proves you don't need a dozen knobs for usable distortion.
