Bonsai
Nine authentic Tube Screamer circuits in one pedal, from OD-1 through TS9 Keeley variants.
JHS designed the Bonsai as the definitive Tube Screamer collection after Josh Scott spent years analyzing every major variant that emerged between 1979 and 2002. The circuit uses the same digital runway system from the Muffuletta—261 components directed through 40 individual switches—creating nine fully analog recreations without emulation or modeling.
Scott used Audio Precision analysis to measure component drift in decades-old originals, accounting for how resistors and capacitors age over time. Each mode replicates exact topology, diode types, and even obsolete op-amp characteristics. The rotary selector clicks through OD-1, MSL, TS808, TS9, TS10, ExoticSL, TS7 Hot, Keeley Baked, and JHS Strong modes.
Drive, Tone, and Volume controls mirror the classic layout. The pedal delivers every significant Tube Screamer voice without hunting down vintage units that command four-figure prices on the used market.
