Bun Runner
Dual fuzz routing. Astro Mess silicon meets vintage germanium Tone Bender with order switching.
JHS packed two distinct fuzz circuits into the Bun Runner with independent controls and order-switching routing. The left side delivers the Astro Mess—a modern silicon fuzz inspired by Ampeg Scrambler and Kay Fuzztone circuits with switchable gate control for pumping, sucking attack. The right side houses vintage-voiced germanium Tone Bender character with bias control for voltage-starved saturation.
Despite the Tone Bender running positive ground germanium topology, JHS includes voltage reversal circuitry that allows standard 9V center-negative power alongside other pedals without isolation requirements. The order toggle determines which fuzz hits first, creating dramatically different gain stacking combinations.
Each side works independently or together. Volume, Tone, Fuzz, and Bias parameters provide comprehensive shaping. At 5mA draw, remarkably efficient for dual circuits. True bypass switching. Two decades of fuzz evolution in one housing.
