Colour Box 10

JHS released the Colour Box 10 in 2022 to celebrate ten years of bringing Neve-inspired preamp character to pedalboards. The circuit matches the V2 specification—the expanded version with EQ shift controls, hi/lo gain switching, phantom power pass-through, and output transformer—wrapped in a limited-edition finish honoring pro-audio aesthetics.

The five-position step control scales gain from +18dB through +39dB. Three-band EQ provides ±15dB on treble and bass, ±10dB on midrange, all flat at noon. The shift knobs adjust frequency ranges: treble sweeps 2kHz to 30kHz, middle covers 150Hz to 2.4kHz, bass spans 20Hz to 440Hz. Hi/lo toggle adds massive clean headroom or pushes into saturation.

Balanced XLR and quarter-inch I/O handles any instrument or microphone. The -20dB pad switch tames hot sources in XLR mode. Silent switching with buffered bypass. At 193mA draw, it powers the complete studio preamp circuit. Double-digit legacy in special colorway.
