Kilt
Stu G's Expandora-style dual overdrive/boost. Four toggles, two footswitches, big enclosure.
Guitarist and producer Stu G (Delirious?) collaborated with JHS in 2015 to create the Kilt, a Scottish-themed take on the rare Bixonic Expandora that spans chimey breakup to gated fuzz. The V1 version arrived in a larger dual-footswitch enclosure, pairing the core Expandora-derived overdrive circuit with an independent clean boost on the right side.
Four knobs and four toggles provide extensive tonal range. The G1 and G2 toggles select between four different clipping resistance combinations (both down for lowest gain, G1 up for more overdrive, G2 up for fuzz character, both up for gated fuzz). A low-cut toggle tightens bass response, while an order switch rearranges the signal path for different textures.
The Kilt V1 later evolved into the more compact V2, which removed the dedicated boost footswitch but kept the flexible Expandora-style dirt circuit intact.
