Kodiak
Tap tempo tremolo with four waveforms. Classic Vox and Blackface tones meet modern control.
JHS built the Kodiak to bring vintage tremolo into the modern era. The circuit draws inspiration from classic Vox and Blackface amp tremolo while adding contemporary features like tap tempo and multiple waveforms. The Volume control can function as boost or preamp, making the Kodiak more than just modulation.
Four waveforms cover distinct tremolo characters: Sine delivers classic amp-like tremolo, Square provides geometric wave characteristics, Ramp offers alternative modulation curves, and Rhythmic produces interesting tonal variations. The Wave knob selects between them.
Speed sets manual tremolo rate or syncs with tap tempo. Mix controls depth from fully clean to fully wet. Ratio enables BPM subdivision (quarter notes, eighth notes, triplets, sixteenths). At 10mA draw, it's remarkably efficient for tap tempo functionality. $219 for comprehensive tremolo control.
