Kilt V2
Stu G signature Expandora variant. Three toggles span chimey breakup to gated fuzz-distortion.
JHS designed the Kilt V2 with Stu G of Delirious, building a heavily tweaked Expandora circuit that covers any-and-all dirt ground in one compact pedal. The circuit uses a specifically chosen operational amplifier with super low noise, improved slew rate for smoother structure, and character that exceeds the original Expandora. Distortion happens through resistance value switching in the clipping section—different from typical diode clipping in conventional drives.
Volume, Gain, and Tone provide core control. The Cut/Flat toggle reduces low-end frequencies for mix clarity or engages beefier bass response. G1 and G2 toggles control gain staging: both down delivers chimey amp-like breakup, G1 up adds riffy grit, G2 up approaches distortion with saturation for leads, both up creates almost uncontrollable gated fuzz-distortion.
Red Remote compatibility switches the G2 toggle externally for on-the-fly gain changes. At 64mA draw, efficient for the switching complexity. $199 for studio and touring flexibility in one pedal.
