JHS designed the Pulp n' Peel as the truly transparent compressor that works for guitar and bass. The circuit uses parallel compression—blending compressed and unaffected signals—to maintain your natural tone while evening dynamics. The pedal functions as compressor, preamp, and professional DI box simultaneously.

The circuit runs a charge pump converting 9V to internal 18V for massive headroom benefits while using standard power supplies. This voltage boost gives you clean preamp power that works equally well for recording direct or enhancing your amp signal. The Dirt toggle adds optional grit to the output when you need character instead of pure transparency.

Both quarter-inch and balanced XLR outputs handle any routing situation. Volume, Sustain, Attack, and Blend knobs provide complete compression control. At 32mA draw, efficient for 18V operation. $229 for studio-quality compression on your pedalboard.
