Supreme
1972 Univox Super-Fuzz replica. Octave-up fuzz with Mode button for enhanced octave effect.
JHS built the Supreme as an exact replica of the 1972 Univox Super-Fuzz, the Japanese octave fuzz that turned notes and chords into thick, searing texture by layering a high octave alongside distorted signal. The circuit represents late-sixties Japanese pedal innovation at its peak with aggressive fuzz tones that defined garage rock and proto-metal.
Volume and Expand controls provide output level and fuzz intensity. Two side-mounted buttons expand functionality: the Tone button engages a mid cut that flattens the attack, and the Mode button activates JHS's own setting with much more pronounced octave-up effect, thicker midrange, and increased volume boost—an enhancement beyond the original circuit.
Part of the Legends of Fuzz series honoring sixty years of broken sound. At 4mA draw, remarkably efficient for octave fuzz circuitry. $89.50 for iconic Super-Fuzz tones without hunting rare vintage units.
