Lluna
Oscillating fuzz with voltage dropper for sputtery, starved textures and self-oscillation.
LastGasp Art Laboratories was founded by Hirofumi Uchino in Tokyo in 1992, with roots in the experimental noise scene. After relocating to Sydney, Australia in 2005, Hiro rebuilt the entire production line from scratch, creating wildly unconventional effects championed by noise and experimental artists worldwide.
The Lluna combines an internal oscillating system with a voltage dropper circuit for a unique take on overdrive and fuzz. The voltage dropper selectively starves part of the circuit, creating the sputtery, dying-battery character without affecting the rest of the pedal's operation.
Four controls provide extensive sound-shaping: Level sets output, Tone adjusts brightness, Volt (starve) controls the voltage dropper intensity, and Gain ranges from soft overdrive to aggressive fuzz with self-oscillation at extreme settings. The Lluna has been called one of LastGasp's finest creations, delivering livewire sear with gorgeous strident harmonics.
