Big Tweedy Drive
BJF design capturing big tweed Fender combo character. Wide-open sound with natural compression.
The Big Tweedy Drive captures the character of large tweed Fender combos from the 1950s, designed by Bjorn Juhl. Unlike the tighter blackface Fenders, tweed amps have a looser, more compressed feel with emphasized low-mids. The Big Tweedy nails this character.
Four controls: Volume sets output level, Gain adjusts distortion amount, Tone shapes high frequencies from significant cut to slight boost, and Presence fine-tunes the upper shimmer. Works particularly well with single-coils but handles humbuckers too.
Current draw is 10mA. Runs on 7.5-12V with 9V recommended. Input impedance 220K at 1kHz, output 1K ohm. True bypass switching. Manufactured in Taiwan.
