Deep Blue Delay
Digital delay with analog signal path. 25-450ms range, 80dB S/N ratio, designed to work with distortion.
The Deep Blue Delay combines digital delay processing with an analog direct signal path. It uses digital chips rather than bucket-brigade devices, though achieving this performance with true analog would require three or four rare vintage BBD chips.
Three controls: Level mixes delayed signal with dry tone, Delay sets time from 25ms to 450ms, and Repeat adjusts feedback from single repeat to infinite. No noise reduction means echoes decay naturally without artifacts. Signal-to-noise ratio hits 80dB.
Designed to work well with distorted tones. Current draw is 32mA. Runs on 8-15V (below 7.5V the delay signal mutes). Input impedance 180K, output 10K ohms. True bypass switching. Dimensions: 69mm x 111mm x 50mm including jacks and knobs.
