Deep Blue Delay (Handwired)
Hand-wired Deep Blue Delay. Digital delay engine with analog signal path, point-to-point construction.
The Deep Blue Delay combines digital delay processing with an analog direct signal path. It uses digital chips rather than bucket-brigade devices. Delay time runs from 25ms to 450ms, matching classic tape echo bandwidth.
Three controls: Level mixes delayed signal with dry tone, Delay sets time from 25ms to 450ms, and Repeat adjusts feedback from single repeat to infinite. No noise reduction circuits means echoes decay naturally. Signal-to-noise ratio hits 80dB. Input impedance 180K, output 10K ohms.
Designed to work well with distorted tones. Current draw is 32mA. Runs on 8-15V (below 7.5V the delay signal mutes). Hand-wired version features point-to-point construction in Finland.
